February 25, 2015 - Drive Thru Prayer Service

Hey y'all!
Well, the weather was crazy all week. Ice, snow, more ice, then it rained forever. It got in the way of many of our good plans, including ASL class and a deaf event. But, despite of all that, we had a pretty interesting week.
Wednesday we met the nicest woman on the planet. She let us right in, saw that Sister Garcia had flats instead of boots, and then proceeded to have her try on all the boots in her closet! They all had heels, so she ended up giving her some tights. Then she told us all about her church's "drive thru prayer service." People drive up to the parking lot, they tell them what to pray for, and then are guaranteed their request will be granted. The South is an interesting place my friends. She said come back and she'll make us dinner, she is great.
We also met the craziest less active on the planet. He said he quit the church because all of the Mormons in Utah are Democrats. Not sure where he got that information from...he also said that Sister Garcia just needs to reach a certain point of spirituality in her life, and then she can make herself hearing. She tried to explain otherwise, but he wouldn't listen so we just left.
This week Kara, Bronzie's friend who has been an investigator forever, came to our ASL Book of Mormon class. She had a lot of questions and we had a long discussion. At the end, she said she felt warm. I am really excited for her to keep progressing. She is so confused and just needs to follow that warm feeling. The spirit is simple, I love it.
Bye, love you!

Bronzie brought Swig cookies back from Utah!

More of the ice storm.

Digging the cars out with some spatulas. We look real classy.
